YogAnga Retreat at Sri Santosh Puri Ashram: Explore a yogic lifestyle, where yogis were born and raised… on the bank of the sacred Ganga River in the foothills of the Himalayas (between Haridwar and Rishikesh).
We are near by and yet just far enough away from the cafe and shoping hustle of Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the World. YogAnga Retreat Hatha Yoga Teacher Trainings are held at Santosh Puri Ashram, approximately 20km downstream from Rishikesh, with the Ganga River and Rajaji National Park as our backyard.
Santosh Puri Ashram is a hidden gem, an oasis nestled in between the overwhelming commercial yoga scene of Rishikesh and the crowded traditional spiritual pilgrimage town of Haridwar, in Uttarakhand, North India.
With less distractions, our Hatha Yoga Teacher Trainings participants get the most of their 500 hours in India.
Our next 500 hour Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher Training India 2025 course begins with the new moon (Amavasya) of September 21st and ends on the full moon (Purnima) of December 4th.
It is recommended you arrive some time before and you are welcome to stay some time after the 500hour YTT ends.
Through lectures, discussions and essay writing, you will discover not only the path of yoga, it’s destination (the goal of yoga), who have been, are and may become your various guides (teachers and gurus) along the way. Most importantly you will discover where you are on this path and how to proceed towards your goal. Through understanding your own journey, you will be able to have a greater understanding of the various types of students you may encounter in your classes. And gain insights into how to adjust each session accordingly to individual students. Ultimately you will open and empty (purify) your self enough to receive all that your various guides (teachers and masters) may have to offer you.
Our comprehensive Yoga Alliance 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training curriculum will guide you through a transformational two and a half month journey indoctrinating you into an authentic traditional yogic lifestyle. Following the (seven) limbs of yoga, of Nath Yogi Svātmārāma and Rishi Gheranda, connect to the teaching of Matsyendranath.

Our 500 hour YogAnga Retreat Hatha Yoga Teacher Trainings in India 2025 course also includes: opening and closing homa fire ceremonies, introductory lectures on Ayurveda, Yoga Philosophy, beginner’s Sanskrit, practical experience towards walking the path of a Yogi, and an of a training field trip to an historically important cave or temple.
