Exploring famous pilgrimage places, temples and caves, she spent those years as a wandering sadhu, learning vedic pujas and doing her own sādhana.
Whenever she got the opportunity to live in a small kutir (cottage) given to her by local villagers, she also spent time taking care of the dhuni (sacred fire place) and serving guests.
Those years she spent her days volunteering in the Ayurvedic Doctor’s office, teaching yoga, and offering craniosacral therapy and massage treatments; she spent her nights serving her guru during Amma’s all night darshan programs all around the world.
Also during her years in Kerala, she attended several Kumbh Melas; while each spring or winter she would come up north to Rishikesh to practice Iyengar Yoga with Usha Devi at Omkarananda Patanjala Yoga Kendra.
