Ayurvedic Medical Science was passed down to us through generations over thousands of years of oral tradition, before finally being recorded in written form. It explains a holistic way of living a healthy life, a balance within one’s physical, social, mental and spiritual being. Approaching health holistically, from the physical, mental, social-emotional, and spiritual perspectives, Ayurvedic lifestyle and treatments bring health to the unhealthy and maintain that of the healthy and thus enabling one to attain their purpose in life. The basic knowledge of Ayurvedic principles helps us to understand our individual nature as well as that of the universe, to realize the connection between the microcosm within ourselves and the macrocosm of the universe, ultimately leading to optimal health and happiness.
Well versed in Sanskrit scriptures as she is accustomed to Western lifestyles, Dr. Alaknanda’s lectures and workshops give participants a solid scriptural foundation, while maintaining relate-ability to their daily lives.
