YogAnga Retreat at Śri Santosh Puri Ashram

YogAnga Retreat at Sri Santosh Puri Ashram: Explore a yogic lifestyle, where yogis were born and raised… on the bank of the sacred Ganga River in the foothills of the Himalayas (between Haridwar and Rishikesh).

Born and raised at Sri Santosh Puri Ashram as the eldest daughter of Baba Santosh Puri and Narvada Puri Mataji, Mandakini Puri teaches hatha yoga, yantra painting and ayurvedic cooking at YogAnga Retreat.

Mandakini Puri Rox is rooted in a traditional yogic family, following the sanyasi lineage of her parents / gurus: Santosh Puri Maharaj and Narvada Puri Mataji.

She is blessed to have been born and continues to reside on the bank of Ma Ganga in the Ashram of her father’s namesake. Her sincere yogic practices led her to become a Yoga Acharya, with a Masters Degrees in Yogic Science & Human Excellence at Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya. Since 2004 she has been managing and teaching courses with YogAnga Retreat at Santosh Puri Ashram.

Aside from her studies, Mandakini’s childhood was spent doing Karma Yoga:

Mandakini grew up taking care of the cows alongside the kitchen duties of cooking and serving ashram aspirants. Since childhood she has learned from observing Babaji, the art of cooking and serving guests.

By the time she was 13 she was already leading after-school study groups for the children of the Ashram and from around the village. Inspired by her parents she began to take up yoga practice more seriously by the time she was 15 years old. And at age of 18 she began teaching yoga classes to local children every Sunday, throughout her four years of University, all the while she was also teaching 1st to 5th grade at a local Primary school.

She holds two Masters Degrees, one in Management at Lalit Mohan University in Rishikesh, the other in Yogic Science & Human Excellence at Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya. Mandakini has studied Pranic Healing from the World Pranic Healing Foundation, founded by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui from Indonesia. She also learned yantra painting from Pieter Weltevrede.

Currently, she serves the ashram by maintaining administrative organization, assisting visitors in their stay as well as in Karma Yoga and leading kirtans. Since 2004 she has been teaching courses in Ayurvedic Cooking, Planetary & Deity Yantra Painting, Homa Fire and Asanas & Pranayama at the ashram.

In 2012 she accompanied Mata Ji on Tour in Europe where she taught Asana, Ayurvedic Cooking, Yantra Painting and conducted a Homa Fire at the Berlin Yoga Festival as well as in Utterect, Holland.

In March 2013 Mandakini was blessed with a beautiful baby boy named Rudraksh. She is finding grounding in being a mother, learning more about cultivating self-sacrifice, compassion, and devotion.
